Wisteria Blossoms

April is the cruelest
now I know
with wisteria in bloom
on melting snow.

When stirrings
take root
becoming thoughts
that overarch
then quickly
fall apart.

It’s cause of this
that April begins
to waste
winter hopes
of seeing her again.

You survive summer
you revive fall
and winter again
starts plans
that come spring
you’ll see her again
'til April passes
and hope falls
with the wisteria blossoms,
strewn upon the ground
and garden walls.
