God has godplans

and how would I

understand

one iota?

Yet each religion

assures me

the cipher

they hold

(and they alone).

This from men

that can’t understand

when reality

conflicts with pen.

It’s just a pen

in the hand of men

the maker

never typed

a page.

I know,

rage

it’s always literal

there’s nothing physical

about the Law.

But I’ve known law

meted out by men

and swastika

enough to fear

for justice.

If we have laws

that don’t change

when justice

conflicts with law.

If we have justice

that doesn’t change

when reality

conflicts with pen.

And we have men

that deny

that God

may have more plans

than pages in books,

even plans

we can’t understand

then pen

will present

a ruthless reality

to be lived.
